I've always wanted to put up some questions on the internet where hopefully, someone will get to shed some light on. It is my deepest hope that the person I'm questioning (or the people close to them) will have an opportunity to read this and ask themselves if they are living a life of true Christians. How I wish one day, they will type their names in Google and hopefully find their way through this blog. Better yet, I hope that someone from the administration gets to see this and investigate on them. I think it's time for these people to face the consequences of their actions.
On to my first inquiry: How can a church minister like Rodel Cabrera and Lowell Menorca have the capacity to buy a house and lot at Tierra Pura and a brand new Toyota Fortuner respectively? We all know that any minister in the church (unless their family is filthy rich before they enter the ministry), CANNOT and WILL NOT have the capacity to buy such luxurious, worldly materials with the amount of money they get out of their "monthly tulong". I am not a math major but for a minister to be able to afford such things, they will have to get the money "elsewhere" (perhaps from a politician, or from the funds that are offered by brethrens).
The brethren in the church are doing their best to follow and obey the teaching about giving. But if portions of these are going to some ministers so they can live a luxurious life in this world is simply unfair! I know of people that, because of their poor status in life, will try their best to offer even at least 20 pesos. It's 20 pesos of hard-earned money - from their hard work, sweat and dedication (as the Bible says). It's 20 pesos that's given whole-heartedly for the propagation of the church (and not to fulfil someone else's luxuries in life). How dare someone touch a portion of this offering only to fulfil their wordly dreams of owning a brand new house and lot at a posh subdivision or a luxury SUV???
I just hope that people who know Rodel Cabrera or Lowell Menorca get to read this blog. I don't think I can continue to stomach and think that everytime I offer on Thursdays and Sundays, a portion of that goes to the pockets of some ministers. I thought that ministers are to have a plain, simple and ordinary life without the luxuries of this world. It is through this that they are able to offer themselves fully to their calling.
